Dark Light

Not CS2 alone, the BRAZY team has always kept a close eye on the world of game releases. So on the eve of 2024, we expected it to be a slow year. We were moving away from the highs of 2023 and everyone was expecting Grand Theft Auto 6 as early as 2025. it was expected to be a transitional year full of niche hidden gems. But this year is almost on par with 2023 in terms of cool new releases thanks to games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and many more. 2024 seems to have only recently begun, but we have already witnessed many iconic releases.

The second half of this year looks to be intense as Xbox will receive an influx of games, PlayStation will once again chase the family market, and Nintendo Switch will take its last breath. And this is just a small piece of the pie. Third-party developers will release anticipated blockbusters such as the remake of Silent Hill 2 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and the indie scene will offer something new in terms of genre. So what should we look out for by the end of 2024? Here’s what we’re particularly looking forward to.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows (November 15)

Before Assassin’s Creed Shadows was announced, I can’t say I was looking forward to the project. Valhalla‘s bloated formula wore me out, and the more stripped back Mirage felt bland. Shadows feels very different, though. For one, it brings the series to Japan in what could be an exciting visual change for the series. What’s especially catching my eye is its dual-protagonist setup, which lets players control both the legendary samurai Yasuke and Naoe, a shinobi. Both have very different playstyles, with Naoe hiding in the shadows and Yasuke getting more aggressive. It’s the kind of shake-up the Assassin’s Creed series needs, all while delivering what looks to be an intriguing alternate-history tale that has some fun with Yasuke’s mysterious legacy.

Batman: Arkham Shadow (fall 2024)

For those looking for a good reason to use their VR headset by the end of the year, Batman: Arkham Shadow is worth keeping an eye on. Though some fans of Rocksteady’s Arkham series haven’t taken kindly to the news that the series is jumping to VR, there are a lot of reasons for them to drop their guard. The project is in good hands over at Camouflaj, the studio behind the solid Iron Man VR. While we haven’t seen gameplay yet, Arkham Shadow is said to feature everything you’d expect from a console Arkham game,. including free-flowing combat. While we’re not entirely sure how that’ll work out in the end, we’re cautiously optimistic that this will be a VR highlight for the year.

Dragon Age: Veilguard (fall 2024)

We continue the list of the most anticipated games of 2024 with Dragon Age: Veilguard. The new installment in the Dragon Age series is important for several reasons. Firstly, it is the first new game in the series since Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was released in 2014. Secondly, Veilguard promises a return to the roots, specifically to Origins.

As the protagonist, you will explore the rich world of Veilguard in the company of two companions. Overall, Veilguard will feature 7 unique heroes with deeply written stories.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (October 25)

We’ll start our list with a game without which it is impossible to imagine something highly desirable in the gaming world. Call of Duty returns in 2024 with a new generation – Black Ops 6.

The series, with more than 20 years of history, will definitely be of interest to gaming fans, especially Call of Duty enthusiasts. Activision, as always, is placing a big bet on their upcoming game: for the first time in the series, there will be the ability to shoot while jumping, a new campaign about fighting private military companies, as well as integration with the battle royale Warzone, among other features.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred (October 8)

Continuing the discussion about DLCs, we cannot overlook the Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4.

Like Shadow of the Erdtree, this will be the first expansion to the hit game, but not necessarily the last.

Vessel of Hatred will tell the story of Neyrela, who went to Nahntha to destroy Mephisto. Naturally, things didn’t go as planned, and now the girl needs help—your help.

The DLC for Diablo 4 introduces a new class to the series, the Spirit Born, a mercenary system that was present in previous installments, and many other new features.
